HEAD & CLAY - Christmas edition

The Christmas edition of Kap & Klei on December 21, 2025, was truly one for the books. In the greenhouse by the water at the 'Op ’t Eiland' hospitality venue, we transformed the space into a temporary studio. Brutus, the wood stove, was burning, the sun made an appearance, and the doors were wide open to welcome all the participants. Colorful lampshades hung in the air waiting, while the lamp bases were given color and glaze layer by layer by the participants.

It felt almost like being in the movie Wonka: a wonderful world full of color, warmth, coziness, and delicious food. 

Everything during this workshop revolves around imagination, creativity, and a dose of playfulness and wonder.

With a fantastic lunch from Op ’t Eiland included, the atmosphere could not have been better. Sometimes I really paused for a moment and thought: wow, how special it is to be able to do this.

I host ceramic workshops at this beautiful location often, but together with Studio Limonada, it gets that little bit extra. You glaze your own lamp base, choose the fabrics for your shade, and end up with a complete, unique designer lamp. This workshop, from being creatively engaged to an object that will soon be shining at home, is unique! 

I am already looking forward to the next edition. Because every single time, it is pure enjoyment, surprise, and wonder at what is being created. This one is here to stay!
