The Juice Car

Why my favorite island? Well, I’ve been going there my whole life. I spent entire summer vacations there, making the most fun and adventurous childhood memories. And as it happens, I have family living there, too. And my cousin, together with his girlfriend, runs an incredibly fun and delicious hospitality spot on the island. And you guessed it: it’s The Juice Car. That’s actually where I gave my first ceramics workshop. And there have been a lot of workshops since then.

I still find it so incredibly lovely when that delightful little shop fills up with happy participants looking forward to the ceramic glazing workshop. The first round of the pastry tasting is already waiting upon arrival. If that’s not a great start to being pampered, then I don’t know what is.

I’ve temporarily transformed the table into a mini studio. The unfired mugs, plates, and bowls are starting to get some color as the participants are busy applying glaze. Right now, they are still matte in color. But just you wait. Once they’ve been in the kiln, they’ll shine right back at you.

For now, just having fun, creating beautiful things, and enjoying good food and drinks. It’s another top-notch afternoon!
