The colorful macaws are inspired by Suriname, a country that holds a special place in my heart. The palm trees refer to Asia, a continent where I have traveled a lot. Palm trees therefore keep returning in my work; to me, they symbolize freedom, discovery, and the feeling that the world is bigger than your daily environment.

My travels always find their way back into the clay, where memories, impressions, and fantasy come together.

This lamp base is entirely hand-built from clay slabs, then painted and glazed layer by layer.
