During a bike ride along the Amalfi Coast, I rode past small pebble beaches where rows of umbrellas and sunbeds in pinkish-red stripes colored the shore.
The sea sparkled, scooters whizzed by, and that typical Italian summer feeling hung in the air everywhere.
That image stayed with me. The stripes, the warmth of the sun, the rhythm of the coastline. I wanted to capture that moment in clay.
I painted the lamp layer by layer. Each line applied by hand. Soft shapes, graphic stripes, and a sunny Mediterranean atmosphere.
No two lamps are the same. Just as no two days on the Amalfi Coast are the same.
